What Are Some Must-Have Smoking Accessories?
There are a lot of different smoking accessories to choose from, and not everyone is going to need or want every accessory.
To help you choose what kinds of smoking accessories you need, think about how you smoke when you smoke, what you smoke, and why. Keeping these things in mind, and more of your personal preferences about smoking will help steer you to the most useful accessories for you.
Below we cover some of the most common and useful smoking accessories among both new and experienced smokers.
Various Sized Bowls
One of the first accessories we recommend to smokers of all types and experience levels is getting several bowls of different sizes that will work with your bubblers and other smoking tools.
There are a few reasons why it’s a good idea to have more than one bowl. Bowl size helps you control how much you smoke and how long you’re smoking. Having the right bowl size can also help keep your smoke from going harsh too soon. Larger bowls are good for sharing, extended smoking sessions, or use with your biggest smoking tools.
We offer a wide range of bowls at SMOKEA® and encourage most people to have at least 3-4 different bowl sizes for different situations.
A Grinder
Having at least one grinder will make the work of preparing flower for smoking a lot easier. More experienced smokers usually have several grinders, for a few important reasons.
For instance, having a grinder that also has a storage compartment can be a good way to keep different strains and different kinds of smoking product separate for a purer flavor.
Some grinders produce different levels of grind, which can also be important for customizing your smoking experience.
Plus, having more than one grinder makes it easier to make sure you always have one available when you need it!
Typically, metal grinders are more durable, but we have a lot of grinders available, including more affordable plastic models.
A Dugout
Sometimes you don’t need a lot to unwind a little, and that’s where a dugout comes in. Easy storage, with included one-hitters designed to make it simple just to get a quick hit on the go, these tools are best for experienced and lifestyle smokers who don’t always feel the need to smoke a lot in one go.
A Dugout can also be an expression of your style, so take your time choosing the right dugout for you and your needs.
Glass & Silicone Cleaner
Not all smoke accessories are about the smoking itself. You also need the right tools to maintain and care for your accessories, and if you’ve ever cleaned a pipe, bubbler, or bong, you know exactly how difficult that can be.
Thankfully, with purpose-formulated glass or silicone cleaner on your side, that difficult job gets a lot easier. Don’t rely on elbow grease alone. Get a cleaner that will do the work for you and keep your smoking devices in great condition.
Pipe Cleaners
Along the same lines as the class and silicone cleaner, you should have at least a few pipe cleaners in your smoke supplies to make sure you’re set and ready if you ever need to clear a clogged pipe or deal with resins in any of the thin connecting pipes between different parts of your smoking accessories.
Pipe cleaners make the job of cleaning your smoking gear much easier, and are easy to use.
Pipe Case
Pipe cases and storage bags are another fantastic way to keep all of your smoking tools and smoking items organized, safe, and clean between uses.
You probably don’t need a case for every smoking accessory you own, but it’s a good idea to prioritize your portable gear and anything higher-end or more delicate.
If you have cats or anyone else who will get into smoking gear and potentially break or knock it over, those smoking tools should probably get cases as well.
Here are our cases and storage solutions for both smoking tools and products.
Storage Jars
Keeping your smoke products in climate-controlled storage containers is one of the best things you can do to keep your product safe and in good condition.
There are a lot of different jars, baggies, and boxes to choose from, and storage jars are some of the best and most versatile options for keeping your smokables tasting the way they should.
Experienced smokers often have a small collection of effective jars and storage solutions for their different products and strains.
Ashtrays
Ashtrays are one of the accessories you can have that's less about the smoking experience itself, and more about preserving the environment around you.
Having plenty of ashtrays around makes it easier to protect your furniture and contain the ash and other byproducts of smoking in a safe and sanitary location.
Plus, ashtrays can be part of your décor and can express your style and aesthetic every bit as much as your other smoking tools.
Dab Tools
Dabbing is one of the ways you can get a lot of relaxation and a big effect with relatively little product and in only a couple of hits. But, you need to have the right tools and accessories for the job, including tools to help pick up the dabbing wax or resin, apply it to hot tools, or heat tools.
At a minimum, we recommend at least one dabbing rod, dab insert, and a torch or two to get started in dabbing.
Bowl Pokers
Pokers and scrapers are tools that help you clear clogs, move product around in a bowl, improve airflow, and make sure that your bowl is smoking the way you want to.
Having a few of these is a good idea because different tools will work a little better with different designs and bowls and will help make sure you’re getting the smoking experience you’re looking for.
Pokers are a basic tool, but also one of the smoking tools that are most necessary rather than being a luxury accessory.
Where Can I Buy Smoking Accessories?
There are a lot of places you can go to buy smoking accessories, including SMOKEA®, where we offer all the smoking supplies and pipe parts you could ever want. You can also sign up for our SMOKEA® Rewards program to start building up points for future discounts, savings, and even free products!
But there are plenty of other places you can get smoking parts as well. Most smoking accessory companies also sell their products online. Also, many online head shop and online smoke shop businesses these days have an online store for at least some of their products and inventory.
There are a lot of smoke shops out there. The bigger question isn’t just where you can buy smoking accessories, but which retail options are going to be right for you.
