The Sherlock Pipe

Shop our famous sherlock holmes pipes in a variety of sizes, shapes, and styles.

Despite what their name might suggest, these pipes aren't just for Sherlock Holmes. While the standing Sherlock pipe is synonymous with the character and mostly associated with wise old grandfatherly types, they provide more than just a hipster smoking experience.

Instead of being a straight shot to the mouthpiece, like spoons or steamrollers, the curved mouthpiece of the Sherlock pipe provides a longer path for the smoke to travel and thus creates a smoother hit.

Even if you choose a Sherlock for the unique look, you’ll quickly realize why these are a fan favorite by young and old alike! Many brands and glassblowers such as GRAV, Empire Glassworks, and more have taken advantage of this uniquely styled Sherlock design to create some fascinating pieces. SMOKEA® is proud to offer a wide selection of the best Sherlock smoking pipes on the market in a variety of materials including wood, glass, and metal.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are Sherlock pipes?

Sherlocks are inspired by the classic pipe smoked by famed, fictional detective Sherlock Holmes. A Sherlock smoking pipe has a distinct saxophone shape with a medium-to-large bowl that wraps around to a curved mouthpiece.

Are Sherlocks and bubblers the same thing?

A bubbler is a pipe that uses bubbles to filter the smoke. They’re smaller than a typical bong and are designed to fit in the hand while being smoked. While some Sherlocks can be bubblers, not all bubblers are Sherlocks.

How do you clean Sherlock smoking pipes?

Sherlocks can be cleaned similarly to standard bongs and pipes. You’ll want to use an alcohol solution or isopropyl alcohol on its own. The difference is that you’ll want to use a pipe cleaner or a poker soaked in alcohol to get in the hard-to-reach crevices of your Sherlock bong. After that, let the pipe sit for 24 hours to dry and enjoy!
