What Is CBD?
CBD — which is short for cannabidiol — can be found pretty much everywhere these days. You’ve probably seen it advertised in lotions, baked goods, or even in drinks. Its growing popularity is certainly a testament to its wonderfully therapeutic effects, but what is CBD, exactly? At its core, CBD is a chemical compound that belongs to a group called cannabinoids (the other notable cannabinoid being THC).
These cannabinoids are naturally present in the cannabis plant, which include hemp. Unlike its wild cousin, THC, CBD doesn't include the psychoactive component, which means it won't get you "high." Not everyone wants to deal with the mind-altering effects of cannabis, which is why CBD products have become so popular among people who are simply looking for something that will help them with pain management symptoms.
What Is THC?
THC (otherwise known as tetrahydrocannabinol) is “the good stuff,” so to speak. While CBD is more chill, THC is what actually makes you feel “high.” When THC enters your body, it binds to specific cannabinoid receptors, especially in the brain. The activation of cannabinoid receptors by THC can influence many of your cognitive and physiological processes.
For example, it might alter your perception of pleasure (making things seem more “funny” than they actually are), or make you feel like you can’t remember things properly. It can also impact your perception of time, which is why people who’ve smoked or consumed a lot of a particular THC product will oftentimes spend hours just sitting on the couch and staring into space.
What Are the Best THC & CBD Products?
SMOKEA® is thrilled to introduce a fantastic lineup of alternative cannabinoid products — such as Delta 8 THC, Delta 10 THC, HHC, THCO, THCP, THCV, and more. These products are relatively new to the market, and cannabis enthusiasts everywhere have been absolutely thrilled about the incredible experiences they’ve had with them.
That’s not even the best part, though! These products, which are derived from hemp, are fully compliant with the 2018 Farm Bill, which means they’re legal alternatives to Delta 9 THC. Each of our products contains unique combinations of both cannabinoids, and they come with different potency levels so you can basically choose exactly the kind of experience you want to have.
Is THC Illegal in the U.S.?
In the United States, federal law prohibits the use, sale, and possession of cannabis containing more than 0.3% THC, although, it totally depends on the state. Plenty of states, like California, allow THC possession and use under certain conditions. As mentioned before, our products offer a legal alternative to Delta 9 THC, so you shouldn’t hesitate to enjoy yourself!
