Yocan Evolve Plus: Yocan Do It!
I know, I know. The title is a Rob Schneider joke. It’s not my finest moment as a writer, but it gives me the opportunity to try to win you back. Sort of like how The Doobie Brothers are named, well, the Doobie Brothers but they still gave us “Black Water.” Don't judge the title...give a guy a second chance!
Speaking of redemption, let's talk about the new Yocan Evolve Plus. This guy is all about bigger and better. Bigger battery, larger atomizer coil, and better overall design. Let’s get to it, shall we?
The Evolve Plus is priced right around $60 which is pretty standard for a solid rig these days. You can find cheaper ones, but you typically get what you pay for, especially when it comes to this type of product. It features a quartz cart with nichrome wire, a standard 510 battery (meaning you can swap out atomizers without being married to Yocan products if you feel like making a change at some point), several different colors, and last but not least (drum roll please) a built in stash compartment on the bottom so you can carry your goodies with you on the go. Seriously, how is that not like, standard on every device these days?
Pros:
This has a nice heft to it without being super bulky. The battery life is solid, 1100mah, so you’ll get plenty of uses out of it before needing a recharge. Pair that with the area for keeping your materials and you’ve got the makings for plenty of fun without needing to worry about finding somewhere to plug in. You’re going to experience a bit of saturation flavor-wise from the heated wires, but that’s pretty much the case with most portable units these days. That being said, the flavor crossover with this device in minimal at most which is a big selling point for me. Another rad feature of this bad boy is the shape of the internal cart; being slightly squared off to help catch and keep your overflow without needing a tool. This also allows the coils to nestle up to the corners as opposed to being stuck into a circular cart circumference-wise, which can make it a little difficult to get at any leftovers.
Cons:
There really aren’t many, to be honest. Over time nichrome wire will slowly add a taste to your product, but that pretty much comes with the territory of portable devices these days. There’s also not much in the way of temperature control except for your own airflow and draw techniques, but the vapor produced is nice and thick.
Final Thoughts:
Overall, this device is pretty tough to beat. If you find yourself out and about often and over carrying your materials and piece separately, this is definitely a worthwhile investment. With the long battery life, unique design, stash compartment, and clean hitting, you’re in good shape with the Evolve Plus.
