Will I fail a drug test after smoking Delta-10?
Yes, if you’re being tested for cannabis, smoking Delta-10 strains can cause a failed drug test. Unfortunately, modern drug tests aren’t able to distinguish between different cannabinoids yet. If you’ve had any hemp or cannabis products, including Delta-8, Delta-9, or Delta-10, they’ll all read as positive on most drug tests.
If you’re expecting to be tested, avoid using hemp or cannabis for several days beforehand to make sure that all cannabinoids have been naturally flushed from your system. If you smoke frequently or use high-potency strains, it may take up to 30 days, while less frequent users may test clean after a few days.
Is Delta-10 synthetic or natural?
Delta-10 cannabinoids are considered semi-synthetic. Although some Delta-10 does appear naturally in small quantities in many cannabis and hemp plants, it’s not really possible to extract it from the plant, since there’s so little.
Most Delta-10 products are created by extracting CBD from hemp and converting it into Delta-10 cannabinoids using specially controlled chemical reactions. As a naturally occurring compound that’s reproduced synthetically, it’s considered semi-synthetic. And because the compound is derived from hemp, it’s federally legal, making it a great alternative to more regulated cannabis products. Delta-10 users often describe its effect as a lighter, more energizing high than Delta-8 or -9.
